2026 CST Exam & Eligibility Overview
The CST exam is a 175-question assessment. Per the 2026 NBSTSA blueprint, candidates must answer at least 102 out of 150 scored questions correctly to pass (25 questions are unscored pretest items). To be eligible to sit for the exam, candidates must have graduated from a surgical technology program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES, or have completed a qualifying military surgical technology training program.
